The 2021 Porsche Macan is available in four configurations: base, S, GTS, and Turbo. The base Macan packs a 248-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder, a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive. This engine feels punchy, and it eagerly zips the Macan around town and up to highway speeds. The sprint from zero to 60 mph takes 6.1 seconds – quick, but not pulse-racing. The Macan S is outfitted with a 348-horsepower turbocharged V6, and this engine raises the fun factor considerably. Stomp on the gas, and the SUV surges off the line with urgency. Zero to 60 mph takes 4.9 seconds. Throttle response is quick, and the V6’s immediate power makes passing other vehicles a quick maneuver. It’ll push you back in your seat.
The Macan GTS has a 375-horsepower twin-turbocharged V6, and it can hustle from zero to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds. The Macan Turbo boasts a 434-horsepower version of that V6, and it trims the SUV’s zero-to-60 time to just 4.1 seconds. These high-performance variants are unbelievably fast but also quite pricey at $70,000-and-up. We suspect most drivers will be happy with the base and S models.
