One look at a GiroDisc 2-piece slotted rotor will give you a very clear idea of why they perform so much better than the factory one-piece cast iron parts. It’s a classic case of the form following function. They’re simply beautiful. Starting with the hard anodized 6061-T6 aluminum hats all the way out the proprietary 32-vane design of the rotors themselves, every part was designed to simply work better. The hats help reduce heat transfer to bearings and wheel hub carriers.
The drive pins have a stress-relieving back-cut radius under the head to ensure maximum strength as well as cadmium plating for the ultimate resistance to corrosion. Even the spring washers are made of a high-temperature alloy in order to ensure rattle-free performance even during the most aggressive driving conditions. The GiroDisc rotors are slightly larger when compared to the factory parts, measuring 340mm in the front and 325mm in the rear, yet they are designed as direct factory replacement and work perfectly with the OEM Porsche calipers. Even the e-brake is left intact. The bottom line is that you won’t find a better built, better engineered, or better-performing replacement rotor option on the market today.
